This is where you pick up your mail,buy homemade pies and bread,  lobster plugs,  fish & chips with homecut fries, Kejimkujik ice cream, find out the price of lobsters at the wharf, and how Mary’s feeling.

The town once a bustling ship building port was home to over 3000 people, hence Commercial Street, once lined with hotels and merchants, now lined with stately homes that sometimes double as  summer cottages.

Continue past the store to the local wharf, where you will find Tony’s fish plant, if the timing is right you can find fresh haddock for sale.

Grab a lunch from Ocean Breeze take out at the Port Store and enjoy the views from the Lighthouse Park’s  Gazebo or the viewing platform.

A stroll around the square will give you up close views of both grand old homes and the Medway Harbour. Just enough time to eat an ice cream.

Port Medway is almost half way between Bridgewater and Liverpool on Nova Scotia’s South Shore. Take exit 17A to Port Medway, from highway 103. The Port Medway road is approximately 7 kilometres from the highway to the Port Store.
